Well. If that was what she desired may she rest in peace. There was a very strong rumor that she was a suicide at the time. She carried a great promise as an actress that she sadly never lived to fulfill.

Well, no one knows for sure, I guess. I mean, Christopher Walken and Robert Wagner are famously tight-lipped over the whole thing but by all accounts, everyone on the boat was tanked so the details are going to always be murky. From what I've read, she got drunk and fell overboard. Which to me seems preventable. Some say she committed suicide, some say that the boys murdered her or that there was a fight that ended up with her being pushed overboard, leading to a sloppy cover-up, but I think that there was simply a stupid, drunk accident. To me, that's preventable but I guess that's why them call them accidents, right?
I would have liked to see her fulfill her 'great actress' destiny.

There were supposedly marks on her hands/nails that implied she was holding on to the siding of the boat for at least a little while before she drowned.
